Veto SB168 NC

Veto SB168 protest outside the NC Governor’s Mansion. SB168 is a Grab Bag of technical measures with a late night added provision to keep death records confidential when used in a death investigation even after they reach the Medical examiner’s office. It closes the public’s view to death records from prisons and jails and the fear police camera footage could be kept from the public under SB168.

Legislators have promised to fix SB168 when they return or they could return and remove this provision. North Carolina’s Governor has been left to sign or Veto SB168. The editorial boards of Raleigh and Charlotte’s News papers have called for Governor Cooper to veto SB168 and they provide substantial reasons for the Veto.
